The Kaohsiung
Museum Of Fine Arts is located within Neiweipi Cultural Park, in the
northwestern part of Kaohsiung City. The museum, which formally opened in
1994, occupies roughly 30,000 square meters. It is Taiwan's third museum
of fine art (factor the Taipei Museum of Fine Arts and Taiwan Museum of
Fine Art), and is significantly larger in size than the Taipei Museum of
Fine Arts. The museum building has a long, horizontal layout. In front of
the museum, an outdoors theater surrounded by a long gallery provides space
for the exhibition of large pieces of sculpture and outdoors performances.
It's also a favorite leisure spot for Kaohsiung residents. |
|
The museum grounds contain the museum itself and an art park, creating
the atmosphere of an urban culture park in harmony with nature. Space
has been subdivided into thematic areas, and lines have been designed
with artistic flair. The art park and museum grounds provide city residents
with a multipurpose space for art, culture, leisure, and ecology.
