There's a parade and pilgrimage activity every third month of the Chinese Lunar calendar. It is one of the most important religious activities in Taiwan. So when you come to Dajia Township, be sure to come around the time of the parade and pilgrimage so you can experience the passion of local people for their religion.
Taichung County is in the middle of Taiwan, and is long and narrow, stretching east to west. The temperature is mild and sunny except in mountainous regions. It's known as the Central Taiwan Basin, and there are many landmarks and beautiful places to visit. One of the main reasons Taichung is so attractive is due to its rich natural resources and scenic places. With the High Speed Rail serving the area, it's now easier for people all over Taiwan to travel to Taichung. In addition to visiting the Dajia Zhen-lan Temple, be sure to visit places like Jianjing on Mt. Tiezhen in Dajia, the Wen Chang Shrine, the Houli horse range, Taichung Port, and even the popular Qingshui rest stop on National Freeway No. 3, and take some great memories with you!
