Located along the boundary of Dongshan Township and Su-ao, the Wulaokeng Scenic Area consists of the valleys of Wulaokeng Creek and East Wulaokeng Creek. The area contains unspoiled mountain streams and a broad swath of wooded hinterland. The area's shady forests, grassy slopes, and gurgling creeks make it a fine spot for escaping the summer heat. It is also known as "Lanyang's Best Forest Springs" and "Lanyang's Scenic Gem."

The scenic area contains 400 hectares of land, including a 70-hectare camping area. The camping area's two large campgrounds can accommodate up to 1,000 campers. A full range of facilities include cooking pavilions, campfire sites, shelters for rainy day gatherings, and men's and women's bathrooms. The scenic area is a multipurpose recreation spot suitable for camping, picnics, stream-following, mountain climbing, outdoors instruction, and tea-drinking.
