The Yangmingshan Jhuzihhu Weather Station was established in 1937. The weather station is inside Yangmingshan National Park at a height of 607 meters above sea level. Transportation is convenient, and the site enjoys four distinctive seasons. The unobstructed view makes it a good spot for escaping the heat and gazing at the city lights below on summer nights. The perennial hot springs nearby can drive away the chill of winter.

Part of Yangmingshan National Park, Jhuzihhu is located in a lovely valley between Mt. Datun, Mt. Cising (Seven Stars), and Mt. Siaoguanyin. Jhuzihhu was originally a "barrier lake" dammed by volcanic lava. The water is now gone, and the bed of the lake occupied by neatly-tended beds of flowers and vegetables.
