The Danshuei Fishermen's Wharf was built at this location because of the spectacular sunset, the nearby mouth of the Danshuei River, and view of Mt. Guanyin. This multifunctional fishing harbor includes a new pedestrian boardwalk, Harbor Bridge, and the Taipei County Fish Market. Visitors can personally experience the atmosphere of an authentic fishing port.

When you stand on the harbor bridge, at the highest point in the area, you can look at the fishing boats heading out to sea, flocks of gulls whirling in the air, the sunset reflected in the golden water, and the crowds of people strolling along the boardwalk. And after the sun goes down, the flickering lights of the town shine in the waters of the Danshuei River, neon lights blaze on sport fishing boats, and the reflected lamplight turns the pure white harbor bridge into a kaleidoscopic wonderland. The fishing harbor and Fishermen's Wharf have thus become one of most popular tourist attractions in northern Taiwan.
